JANU BASTI
In Sanskrit the knee joint is called Janu Sandhi and the janu vasti is specialized knee therapy or massage therapy to rejuvenate knee joints. In this effective ayurveda panchkarma technique in Ahmedabad the knee joint is bathed with warm medicated oil including Ksheerabala Tailam, Mahanarayana Tailam, Mahamasha Tailam, Pinda Tailam , Ashwagandhabalalakshadi Tailam, Sahacharadi Tailam and Tila Taila (sesame oil) etc
How it is done
- Person is treated with the reservoir made of black gram dough. Dough ring is carefully put upon the Knee Joint.
- The dough ring is put to cover the knee joint.
- After making it leak proof, the lukewarm medicated oil or herbal decoction is slowly poured into the bowl like structure of dough ring.
- When the mixture cools down, it is squeezed out with cotton gauze
- The same process is repeated, the mixture of lukewarm medicated oil or herbal decoction again placed into dough ring.
- At the end affected area is massaged gently after removing the dough ring.
